Cub Scouting is for children in Kindergarten through fifth grade. Youth can join Scouts BSA if they meet one of the following conditions: 1) At least 10 years old, currently in fifth grade and register on or after March 1st of a given year, 2) Have earned the Arrow of Light Award and are at least 10 years old, 3) Are age 11 but have not reached age 18.
Cub Scouts and Scouts BSA are separate programs of the Boy Scouts of America. Cub Scouting is a family-oriented program designed specifically to address the needs of younger boys and girls. Scouts BSA is an intense outdoor program with peer group leadership under the counsel of an adult Scoutmaster.
Cub Scouts meet in their dens once a week, and a Pack Meeting is typically held for all Cub Scouts and their families once a month. For Pack 126, we traditionally meet each Monday with optional events throughout the year. CLICK HERE to learn more about our meeting times and location and stay current with all of our activities by accessing our Calendar.
Cub Scout den meetings are focused on activities and learnings designed for the individual boys and girls. Parental presence at meetings is permissible at the discretion of the Den leader. We are always actively searching for volunteers. If you are interested, get started HERE.
We require all Scouts to have a uniform and program-specific handbook. Additional supplies and equipment may be needed for Pack activities and events such as camping outings and field days. Many items are provided by the Pack. Should additional supplies or equipment be needed for an activity, a Unit Leader will provide a list to parents well in advance.
The Pack will conduct a group uniform and handbook order once a year to accommodate its members' needs.
Absolutely. Pack 126 has several girls participating across its program. The purpose of Scouting is meant to prepare our children for life and to help them become the best version of themselves possible.
Please express your interest to the unit leaders and plan to complete an application. While there is no guarantee that a specific role or position within the Pack will be available, there assuredly are ways that you can contribute--and we'd be grateful for your support!
